Rai and the Commissioner’s Office for Italy at Expo 2020 have signed an agreement which will see the Public Service company documenting Italy’s attendance at the universal exhibition taking place in Dubai. The agreement reads, “EXPO 2020 is the first Universal Exhibition to take place in the Arab states and Italian participation is aimed at using it as a opportunity to strengthen the cultural, economic and diplomatic role Italy plays in the wider Mediterranean area.”
From a practical point of view, the Public Service Company will work with the Commissioner’s Office to develop projects and initiatives linked to Expo 2020, and will promote the themes of the universal exhibition, with digital innovation, global citizenship and sustainability taking centre stage. For the countries taking part, including Italy, “it is essential to reach and involve” the so-called millennials who “are constantly connected to the Internet and possess in-depth knowledge of digital communication technologies and codes.”
The Memorandum continues, “Expo 2020 marks a great opportunity to present an Italian model for creating shared value, made possible by the circulation of ideas, cultural products and creative brilliance and constructed around projects and solutions trialled or already successfully implemented by Italian companies, regional councils, research centres and educational complexes.
During the event, some of the most meaningful experiences encountered and created by Italians throughout the world will be recounted; experiences that “contribute to the development of increasingly global professional skills, expanding Italy’s ability to display itself on the international stage: an Italian model of intelligence, know-how, hard work and excellence.”
