The Arab Emirates Forum has taken place in Turin, in front of a large and engaged audience: the event illustrated the business opportunities available for local companies wanting to open themselves up to one of the fastest-growing markets in the world, which will also be hosting the upcoming Universal Exhibition, due to take place in Dubai from 20th October 2020 to 10th April 2021.
The conference was introduced by Guido Bolatto, Secretary General for the Turin Chamber of Commerce, Antonello De Riu from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Giuseppina De Santis, Councillor for Production at the Piedmont Regional Authority, and Alberto Sacco, Deputy Mayor in charge of Commerce, Employment and Tourism for the City of Turin.
Liborio Stellino, Italian Ambassador in the United Arab Emirates, discussed the Emirate market as a whole, and was followed by Gianpaolo Bruno, Director of the ICE Desk Dubai, who illustrated several of the current business opportunities within the UAE.
Opportunities that will multiply thanks to the upcoming EXPO, an event which will introduce the world to the leading lights in the field of tangible and intangible infrastructures, which create connections and dialogue between continents, countries, cities, cultures, religions and communities.
Adjunct Commissioner for Expo 2020 Dubai Marcello Fondi then expanded upon Expo 2020, Italian participation and the opportunities this will bring for Piedmont businesses.
Marco Zucco, CEO of SDAC, spoke about how to do business in the Arab Emirates, introducing the case histories of the CCI, first with Germana Garrone and then with Ivan Mangone of Progetti Medical.
Closing the conference was Sonia Naretto from the Competitiveness and Internationalisation Development Sector at the Turin Chamber of Commerce, who spoke on the theme of supporting businesses through internationalisation in the Arab Emirates, followed by Annalisa Gamba, International Projects and Fundraising Manager at CEI Piedmont, discussing integrated supply chain projects.
The day concluded later in the afternoon with a series of B2B meetings at the Torino Incontra Conference Centre.
